Cambridge English or IELTS — which should I choose?

Choose Cambridge English when you want a qualification that proves a specific level and never expires. The Young Learners tests (Starters, Movers and Flyers) are colourful, low-pressure exams that introduce children to English with pictures and games; A2 Key and B1 Preliminary build the everyday English that teenagers and adults use at school, work and when travelling; B2 First and C1 Advanced are accepted by thousands of universities and employers as proof of strong, independent English; and C2 Proficiency shows command of the language at the very highest level.

Choose IELTS Academic when you need a globally trusted score for university entry or migration. One test measures Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking together, and your overall band tells institutions exactly where your English sits. Many learners warm up with the Cambridge B2/C1 tests and then take IELTS for the score itself.
