About the SAT Math paper

The SAT Math section: two modules of 22 questions, 35 minutes each, with a calculator allowed on every question. Questions cover Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry, and get harder as you go through each module. About three in four are multiple choice; for the rest you type your own answer. With 14 or more correct answers in Module 1 you get the harder Module 2, otherwise the easier one. Finish both modules to get a practice section score estimate from 200 to 800.

How SAT is scored

The digital SAT reports a Reading and Writing score and a Math score, each from 200 to 800, for a total of 400 to 1600. On 7ESL, each module is marked instantly, and every question shows the correct answer and an explanation (for multiple-choice questions, also why your choice was wrong). In each section, Module 1 decides which Module 2 you get: 16 or more correct out of 27 in Reading and Writing, or 14 or more out of 22 in Math, opens the harder Module 2. After both modules of a section, you get a practice section score estimate from 200 to 800 based on your total correct answers and the Module 2 you took; after both sections, you also see an estimated total. The estimates come from 7ESL conversion tables, not from College Board, and every question counts here (the real test includes 2 unscored questions per module).

7ESL practice material written in the public format of the digital SAT (Reading and Writing and Math). 7ESL is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, College Board. SAT is a registered trademark of College Board. Score estimates are unofficial and for practice only.
