When should I use ‘to do’ vs. ‘doing’??

I find it hard to memorize/memorizing English words.
Which is correct? Or both are acceptable, just with one being more commonly used?

“I find it hard to memorize” sounds more natural.
We usually say “find it + adjective + to do something.”

“I find it hard memorizing…” sounds a bit off.

You can also say “Memorizing words is hard.”

Both are correct, but they’re used differently

“I find it hard to memorize English words” = more natural and common
“I find memorizing English words hard” = also correct, just a bit more formal
