The 7ESL Homework Generator turns the exact material you taught today into a ready-to-print homework sheet. Choose Vocabulary and paste the words from today's lesson, or choose Grammar and name the point you covered (for example "past simple" or "comparatives"). Pick the exercise formats you want - including the new Short answer (writing) questions - along with the number of items and the CEFR level, and the generator writes a worksheet that practises your material and nothing else, so the homework always matches your syllabus. How to use the Homework Generator
Select Vocabulary or Grammar, enter your word list or grammar point, and tick the formats you want: multiple choice, gap-fill and matching for vocabulary; multiple choice, gap-fill, error correction, verb conjugation and sentence transformation for grammar; and Short answer (writing) alongside either of them. Press Generate and the worksheet appears on screen. Toggle the answers to review it, use Shuffle to reorder the items and answer choices for a second version, then print: one clean copy for students with name, date and score lines, and one copy with the answer key for you.
Short answer questions and AI feedback
New in this release, Short answer (writing) asks students to reply in their own words instead of choosing from options, which is the quickest way to find out whether they can actually use the language rather than merely recognise it. Because there is no single correct string to match against, these questions are handled separately from the automatically marked ones, and the model answer you write for each is kept for your eyes only. When you press Create online assignment you can switch AI feedback on for that assignment; with it on, every short answer comes back carrying a mark and one sentence of feedback written to the student. You keep the final say - any mark the AI gives can be overridden, and you can attach a note of your own when you change it. Leave the switch off and the writing answers simply arrive unmarked, ready for you to read yourself.
Why generate homework from your own words
Most worksheet tools invent their own content, so the practice drifts away from what your class actually studied. This tool does the opposite: every item is built from the words or structure you enter, at the level you set, which means students revise exactly what they met in the lesson. Review the sheet before you hand it out, as you would any material - AI occasionally writes an awkward item, and you know your class best.

What do I enter for Vocabulary vs Grammar?
For Vocabulary, paste the exact words you taught (a comma or line separated list). For Grammar, name the point you covered, such as "present perfect" or "reported speech". Every exercise is built from what you enter.

When you press Create online assignment you can switch AI feedback on. With it on, each short answer comes back with a mark and one sentence of feedback addressed to the student. You can override any mark the AI gives and add your own note when you do. With it off, the writing answers simply arrive unmarked for you to read yourself.
Can I print a student copy and a teacher key?
Yes. Print the worksheet for students - it has name, date and score lines - or print it with the answer key on a separate page for yourself. A Shuffle button reorders items and options so you can make more than one version.
How much can I enter?
Up to 120 words of target vocabulary or grammar description. For a longer list, split it into two worksheets.
