About Feed the Monster
Feed the Monster is a free vocabulary game where a friendly, always-hungry monster asks for things by name and your child feeds it by tapping the right picture. In every round the monster announces what it wants — an apple, a bus, a little star — and three big picture choices appear below. Pick the right one and the monster gobbles it up with a happy wiggle; pick another and it gently shakes its head so your child can think and try again.
A full game lasts ten short rounds, perfect for one sitting, and every new game shuffles a fresh menu of words so the monster never asks for the same meal twice. The vocabulary comes from the Pre-A1 and A1 young-learner lists — food, animals, toys, colours and everyday objects — which makes the game an ideal first step for children aged about four to nine who are starting English. Because the request appears as a word and the answers are pictures, the game trains reading-to-meaning in the most natural direction for young learners, and pre-readers can join in while a parent or teacher reads the monster's request aloud.
