Memory Flip
Flip 12 cards and match each picture with its English word. A calm, happy memory game for young learners aged 4-9.
About Memory Flip
Memory Flip is a free memory card game that teaches early English vocabulary to young learners. Twelve cards lie face down on the board: six show pictures and six show the matching English words. Your child flips two cards at a time, trying to pair each picture with its word — flip the cat picture and the word cat together and the pair stays face up with a happy chime.
Clear the whole board to win, then shuffle and play again with a brand-new set of words. The classic memory mechanic does two jobs at once: it trains concentration and short-term memory, and it quietly drills word recognition, because every flip asks the child to hold a picture or a word in mind while searching for its partner. All vocabulary comes from the Pre-A1 and A1 range — animals, food, classroom objects and other everyday words — so the game fits children aged about four to nine who are taking their first steps in English.
Children who cannot read yet can still play: the words are short, the matching picture confirms the meaning instantly, and many parents read each card aloud on the flip to add listening practice. There is no timer, no losing condition and no daily limit; Memory Flip is freely replayable, ad-free inside the game, and needs no account. It works beautifully as a calm one-on-one activity at home or a pair activity in an early-years classroom.

Frequently asked questions
What age group is Memory Flip for?
Memory Flip suits children from about four to nine years old. Younger kids enjoy it as a turn-taking game with a parent reading the words aloud, while school-age children play solo and start recognising the written words by sight. The calm, no-timer pace works well even for very young players.
Is Memory Flip free?
Yes. Memory Flip is completely free with no ads inside the game and nothing to buy. No account or sign-up is required — children play instantly as guests. The full game, every card set and unlimited replays are included for everyone.
Can children who can't read yet play Memory Flip?
Yes. Half the cards are pictures, and the word cards use very short Pre-A1 words. A pre-reader can match by playing alongside an adult who reads each flipped word aloud — and because the matching picture confirms the meaning, the game itself gradually teaches children to recognise the words.
Is Memory Flip limited to one game per day?
No. Memory Flip is not a daily puzzle — there is no daily limit and no lockout. The board reshuffles with a fresh set of picture-word pairs every game, so your child can play five rounds in a row or come back whenever they like.
What words are on the cards?
The pairs come from the Pre-A1 and A1 vocabulary range: animals, food and drink, toys, classroom objects, nature and everyday things — words like dog, milk, star, book and bus. Each game draws six pairs from the pool, so children meet new words across repeated plays.
