Speak with confidence at work
Knowing the right phrase is not the same as saying it under pressure. These 40 business English scenes let you rehearse real workplace moments out loud before they happen: a job interview, a first day at work, taking a message on the phone, giving a project update, handling a customer's objection and negotiating a deadline.
Take a role in the conversation and say your lines when it is your turn, or answer interview and meeting questions in your own words. Chunk and stress activities help you sound clear and polite, and word-swap drills let you adapt a phrase to your own job. Record yourself, compare with the model and try again.
Beginner scenes use short, polite workplace phrases; advanced ones add opinions, diplomacy and fast discussion. Hear each scene first in business English listening so you know what to expect.
Role-play and self-comparison are free on almost every scene, and recordings stay in your browser. With 7ESL Pro, you can also send an answer for AI feedback on meaning, the task and your phrasing. There is no pronunciation score.
Frequently asked questions
How can I practise business English speaking?
Choose workplace scenes at your level, take a role in the conversation and say your lines out loud. Record yourself, compare with the model and repeat the phrases you want to use at work.
How do I prepare for a job interview in English?
Practise answering common questions out loud, such as "Tell me about yourself", until the answers feel natural. The job interview scenes let you hear a model answer, then give your own.
What phrases do I need for meetings?
Phrases to give an update, agree and disagree politely, ask for clarification and agree the next steps. The meeting and project update scenes practise all of these.
Is there AI feedback?
Yes, with 7ESL Pro for teens and adults: the AI listens to one answer and comments on meaning, the task and your phrasing. It does not give a pronunciation score. Comparing your recording with the model is free.
Can I listen to the scenes first?
Yes. Every business scene has a listening version with the transcript, a dictation mode and questions: open business English listening, then come back and say it.
