Quick Notes
- Present subjunctive: base verb (no -s) after expressions like suggest, recommend, insist, essential, necessary. Example: They insisted that he be careful.
- Unreal past (wish / if): often uses past form, and were is common for all subjects. Example: I wish I were taller.
- Unreal past perfect (past regret): uses had + V3. Example: If I had known, I would have helped.
